  • Default Collapse Views on takeoffs, Templates, Items and Pages
    Here's a handy tip for zzTakeoff users, if you would like to set your takeoffs, templates and Items, to a default collapse view, simply select the three dots on the right side of your tabs, which is next to the Excel export icon, then select collapse all. This will set your view to collapse when you leave the tab and re-enter. This will work for Takeoffs, Templates, Items and even the pages on the left side of your screen.Few readers

  • Using the Arc Tool
    Did you know that zzTakeoff has an arc tool that will help you measure curved and circular areas? This easy to use tool can be implemented when you are performing a linear or an area takeoff. To do this start your measurement and be sure to make a point, or click on the beginning of the arc, then in the middle of the arc before you select your next point, select A on your keyboard and that will change the measurement to an arc, and you will see the click arc midpoiPopular
  • Printing Plans to PDF
    In zzTakeoff, you can print your plans in a variety of ways, PDF, or Directly to a Printer. You have the option of printing a full page or the current view of a page. You can even select single or multiple sheets to print. On the top bar of your zzTakeoff screen, select the down arrow to the bottom right of the printer icon, you have a choice of, print full Page, or Print Current View, now select the paper size, the printer and orientation.   • Editing Project Information
    When you created a new project in zzTakeoff, you had the option of filling out all or part of the project information. If you would like to make changes to the Project Information, all you need to do is go to the zzTakeoff project drop down on the top left part of your screen and select Edit Project. When the Project window opens, you can add or make changes as needed. When you are finished, select Save Project and the window will closeFew readers
  • Highlights, Clouds, Notes, Arrows and Callouts
    On the Top Bar menu, there are some features that are very useful. Cloud, Highlighter, Note, Arrow and Call out. If you select the cloud icon it will allow you to circle an area with a red cloud, which can be used for communication with other zzTakeoff users. The highlighter allows you to highlight a portion of the plans by dragging your mouse after left clicking your mouse, , The note and call out, will allow you to apply a text to an area, , and the Arrow will mark aFew readers
  • Cutting a Section Out From an Area
    In zzTakeoff we can cut out an area within an area. To do this simply select the area that you would like to cutout, then right and select cutout, You can now count the area or areas that you would like to cutout. Remember the arc tool is great for removing curved or circular areas.Some readers
  • Resume an Existing Takeoff
    To Resume an Existing Takeoff, you simply have to select the item you wish to continue with the takeoff and select N on your Keyboard, or you can right click and select Count more. You can even select RESUME takeoff if you would like to continue where you left off, on area and linear takeoffs. Remember you can always hit escape or click on the green check mark at the top of the screen, to stop measuring, And Yes, it’s Easy, with zzTakeoffFew readers
  • Opening Multiple Page Tabs at the Same Time
    In zzTakeoff, you can have multiple pages open in different tabs. Simply right click on the page, in the page slide out, then select open in new tab. You will see the new tab at the top of your screen. When you are finished with the tab, just select the X at the corner of the tab and the tab will close.Some readers
  • Drag and Drop Items into an Existing Takeoff Property
    In zzTakeoff, you can drag and drop items into Takeoff Properties on the pages. To do this, go to the Items tab. On the right side of your screen, simply select the item that you would like to include in your takeoff assembly, then left click on your mouse, while holding the left side of your mouse down, drag the item into the takeoff property that you want to add the item to, and release., This should add the item to your assembly, and you can check on the takeoff sidFew readers
  • Copy, Paste and Deleting Takeoffs, Templates and Items
    In your Takeoff, Templates and Item Tabs on the right side of the screen, we can duplicate anything in these windows, simply by selecting the Properties or Folders that you wish to copy and paste, then right click and select copy, now you are ready to paste the copied items to a new location. Just Right Click to the location that you would like to place the copied items and select Paste. The newly copied items will have a set of parentheses with a number inside, thiSome readers
  • Resuming an Existing Takeoff
    If you would like to continue a takeoff of an existing measurement,  simply left click on that Takeoff Property,  and select the letter, N, on your keyboard,  and this will allow you to record new measurements., You can also left click on a takeoff property and select the icon with the plus sign on the top of your screen to continue measurements.Few readers
  • Show and Hide Legend on Takeoff Page
    To show the legend on your plan sheet, simply right click on the page that is open and select, show legend, You can move the legend around and resize the legend as you see fit, if you would like to remove the legend, simply right click and select, hide. On the right and left side of your screen there are slide outs that contain your pages, templates, takeoffs and items, if you would like to hide either or both you can select the sideways V, and condense the slide outFew readers
  • Convert a Takeoff to Another Takeoff
    In zzTakeoff you can convert an existing takeoff into another takeoff property., In this example we have an existing area takeoff, that we would like to convert to another area property. To do this, simply select the takeoff that you would like to convert, then right click, and select convert to, this will give you the option to choose the new takeoff property that you would like to convert it to.Few readers
  • Snap, Ortho and Auto-Scroll
    In zzTakeoff, we have located some very useful buttons on the bottom right of your screen; PDF Snap, Snap, Ortho and Auto scroll. We can easily turn them on or off as needed. With the Snap Button turned on when measuring, your takeoff property will be attracted to other takeoff properties, which is very useful when measuring next to another takeoff property. With the Ortho Button Turned on, it makes takeoffs easier when measuring vertical or horizontal lines. The autoSome readers
